First of all, someone just suggested that I point people at my long-winded replies to this comment, in case anybody's interested in a bit of a wrap-up type analysis of certain aspects of "Lee." (Spoiler warning: that link is to Lee chapter 50 and contains spoilers for everything ever, including five of M. Night Shyamalan's films.)
(Okay, not for those.)
Second, my husband just said something about my stories being epically massive (YES I KNOW) and then said, jokingly, "I should go on your index page and leave a comment that just says 'tl;dr.'" (pause) "And then get torn into tiny pieces by your readers."
And I was like "What? My readers are gentle and sweet and peace-loving" and he was like "Whatever. I've seen their comments. THEY WILL DEFEND YOU WITH KNIVES."
And then I was like, "Actually, though, you're not the only one who thinks that. I seem to recall once getting an anonymous, really REALLY mildly critical comment that specifically mentioned it was anonymous because the person leaving it didn't want to have to deal with my illusory hordes of touchy and vengeful fans on account of the mild criticism," and he was like: "WHAT I'M SAYING."
So, um, I can't believe I'm lucky enough to be in a position to say this, but: y'all know you can be critical, right? I mean, I can take it. I am tough. Honestly. I like criticism; it makes me think about why I done what I did, which is incredibly valuable to me. And if you really fear reprisal by my terrifying regular readers (who are not terrifying at all, honestly, they are sweet as pie and they almost never savage anybody and devour his entrails and strew the remnants of his corpse about the room, and that one time was just a big old misunderstanding, really it was), you are more than welcome to go anonymouse with it.
Also if you ARE a regular reader and you used to love my stuff and the last two entries of Lee were horrible but you just know the pack will turn on you if you say so: Anonymous commenting. It's always turned on. Tell me.
Also, just discuss if you want. I mean, if you'd like to discuss stuff anonymously. Or indeed nonymously! As you wish! And, dearest readers: no savaging!
