So it's been way too long since I wrote anything in the Slave Breakers 'verse. I miss these guys. And I get plot bunnies. I've just been kind of working on Maiden for awhile. But Maiden needs a rest as I plot towards the conclusion and get the replies-to-comments post wrapped up.

Anyway, for the holidays, since I failed at getting out a holiday story, here are four Slave Breakers plot bunnies that have wriggled in, post-Lee, in 100-word drabble form. I'm pretty sure I'll end up writing all these stories, eventually. Of course, if you guys find them intriguing, that will be incentive. :) Plus-- I did say five-- a bit (not spoilery for the story so far) from the next chapter of Intake Counselor.

Since I announced that I would happily trade fic for fanart, there have been two lovely posts over at [profile] slavebreakers, and though [profile] fantasy_1988 has not claimed her winnings for her Lee + Jer drawing, [profile] isha_lj knew what she wanted for her drawing of young Yves:

I was hoping for one where Holden trains Yves in orgasm control. So hopefully something with orgasm denial and begging. Not sure if Holden ever *did* that training with Yves, but if he did...

Well... I seem to have written what amounts to the prequel to her scenario instead of the scenario itself. I actually kind of suck at writing begging-type dialogue (I'm no good at it in bed either, as I quickly devolve into dire threats of vengeance), so maybe it's for the best. Hopefully it provides enough of a setup to adequately kindle the imagination on what comes next.

It's not your fault nobody ever taught you any better. )

Thank you so much to everyone who has responded so far to my poll (friendslocked, but I'll always friend you back if you friend me and don't appear to be a robot. I like getting to know my readers). I'm writing a thinky-thoughts post right now about my creative process as it relates to Slave Breakers Original Flavor (tm), Intake Counselor, and The Maiden, and how it's affected (and not affected) by audience reaction. But while I'm hashing all that out, for all my sweet slash-loving readers who are so kindly sticking with me as I wander afield into sexually-frustrated girlslash and femdom-het and weird crackly hands, how about some early-era Holden/Yves?

Set between this and this (and relatedly, god, how badly do I need to update the index page? I'll try to do that tonight).

I had several requests for this scene aeons ago. See, I don't forget )

Several people expressed interest in seeing this drabble extended (and others at various times have expressed the desire for a similar encounter) so...

Homecoming

First: due to a Series of Unfortunate Events (though nothing involving a count with a tattoo of an eye on his ankle), I still haven't mailed out people's perfume. I'm sorry. :( I do have it all packaged up in ziploc bags with people's addresses written on slips of paper, ready for the padded mailers, and I should be able to get to at least the extended-hours post office on Monday, barring more snow or unexpected emergency-room visits (no worries; total false alarm).

I'm also going through backlogged comments and messages tonight looking for important things I have doubtless missed or forgotten about. I've given up on catching up completely, but I am going to get to a point from which I feel comfortable moving on and doing better at staying on top of things in the future; I'm not sure what that point will be yet, but I'm hoping to determine and achieve it this weekend.

In the meantime, here is the "Yves comes home from university for the first time" story I promised.

But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,/ And loved the sorrows of your changing face... )

Another story-in-reply-to-several-different-comments, on several different recent stories.

(I do think maybe a new, post-Lee Yves miniseries is in order. What say you?)

I was just playing with you last night. You know that, right? )
maculategiraffe: (Default)
This was a fairly popular write-in request on the post-Lee-chapter-49 poll (complete and utter Lee spoilers in that link, it goes without saying).

(Yes, this is the second day of Christmas. The 25th is Christmas Day, and then the 26th is the First Day of Christmas, making the 6th, Feast of the Epiphany, also Twelfth Night. The more you know!)

I got online to post this and saw this comment. Heh. :)

Takes place chronologically before this one.

Think I am caught up on my story reading and commenting (let me know if I missed anything), though not yet on my own lovely commenters. I have tomorrow off for Labor Day, though, so I should be able to finish catching up then. :)

Quick little scene, here, anyway. I saw [livejournal.com profile] hawk_soaring mention "writing on the body" as a kink bingo category, and I suddenly wrote this. Set during Yves' first year as Holden's.

In which Yves takes over his own training process )

As long as I'm writing short pieces in answer to reader queries... this is a question I've gotten a few times, most recently here, at #3 (link is to a comment on the latest chapter of Lee, and may contain spoilers if you're not caught up), and always somewhat to my alarm. But I may have finally clued in that it isn't an actual question so much as a request: i.e., less "Does Holden take no for an answer when it comes to sex?" than "I'd like to read a scene in which Holden takes no for an answer when it comes to sex."

(At least I hope so, and that the question isn't actually "So, I like the fic, but there's one thing I've always been mildly curious about: does Holden rape the slaves?")

Short, but I have a very short attention span lately (could be something to do with the massive amounts of Stuff I Have To Do), so I might as well crank out canap├ęs to amuse your lovely bouches while I try to find time and focus to finish something longer.

About 700 words, set whenever you like )

After this discussion with [livejournal.com profile] cgravenstone, I, uh, wrote this. It's also 1000 words. I'm sorry; this hospital is affecting my attention span.

And if I hold you like/ Tomorrow you might die/ Well, that's because you might )
maculategiraffe: (the lovers - for I am captured)
Plan to catch up on comments and friends list and such sometime today or tonight (been getting some truly awesome comments, indeed, which have made me grin immoderately), but in the meantime, since the Crimson thing is a bit of a downer at the moment, here is a bit of... something else. I had an eight-hour drive yesterday, and I listened to a lot of Magnetic Fields, and just couldn't get some of these images out of my head. Wrote it really fast this morning. Hope it's not too silly. Takes place sometime after "Jesse" and before "Lee."

Maybe it's you/ You know your eyes are awful blue/ Maybe it's more/ Maybe you're all I ever waited for )
maculategiraffe: (thoth - under your wheels)
Takes place "last night" in Lee-time, i.e. during the events, roughly, of Lee chapter 29.

Timid like a Chinese whisper/ Calm like a needle in the eye of a twister )
maculategiraffe: (the lovers - for I am captured)
This is the third in the series of three ficlets involving "mine/yours dialogue" and Holden's three boys.

The first one
The second one

Now the clock is striking one, so we might as well begin it... )
maculategiraffe: (Default)
I guess you could consider this part of "Lee", as it's the flashback Holden plunges into immediately after Lisa's last line in the last chapter. I was just going to sort of nod to it with a paragraph in the next chapter of Lee, but I'd gone ahead and written out the whole thing for fun and I sort of thought it was fun and I might as well post it. So. Yes. Silliness.

*whooshy flashback sound effect from Lost* )

Well, that was a fun blackout, wasn't it? What did we all do for 24 hours without our beloved eljay? I ran many useful errands under the sun. Bright thing, that sun. Very.

Also, of course, I wrote a bit of fic. Here's the scene, much requested in the comments to this story, where Holden reacts to the news of the Yves-and-Jer sex; it ended up right at 1000 words.

Have a meme to post and comments to catch up on, later. Too sleepy now. (Sad, true fact about my chosen profession: Friday night means I can go to bed at 8:30 like I want to, instead of forcing myself to stay up grading papers.)

I take it you and Jer had fun while I was out. )
maculategiraffe: (thoth - under your wheels)
[livejournal.com profile] morgan_cian, this is for you, and for [livejournal.com profile] wickhouse2005, who said, ages ago, "I think we need to see Yves lose it."

This is the first time Yves and Jer have sex.

The middle of adventure's such a perfect place to start... )

My internet situation is... somewhat complex, at the moment; I do not have internet on my laptop except when I can snag a wireless connection at a coffee shop or something, so while I can write all I want on my laptop in Word, and hop on quickly to paste-and-post before work, I cannot currently get on to do sustained internetty things like replying to all my comments in the thoughtful manner which they fully deserve. Please do not think I am ignoring you, my beloved commenter type people. I really will catch up, as soon as my internet situation has stabilized.

In the meantime, paste-and-post it is. Here is a meme ganked from [livejournal.com profile] morgan_cian:

List ten fictional characters you wouldn't kick out of bed (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same.

1. Albert from The Count of Monte Cristo
2. Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
3. Mohinder from Heroes
4. Veronica from Veronica Mars
5. Luna from Harry Potter
6. Kaylee from Firefly
7. Sayid from Lost
8. Max from Dark Angel
9. Destruction from Sandman
10. Yves (what? I can pick my own characters if I want)

Tagging anyone who wants to play. :) Have at it!

And another meme ganked from [livejournal.com profile] thirdsouthobbi:

Let's Talk Writing, Or, Love On The Orient Express )

And now I have those few sentences for you of my favorite pairing. [livejournal.com profile] morgan_cian, here's your boylove scene. You know I love ya, babe.

Forty is a few, right? )
maculategiraffe: (blake - thy fearful symmetry)
Fear I am hopelessly behind on comments again-- been an interesting couple of days-- but [livejournal.com profile] morgan_cian requested a scene with Yves and Jer alone together, pointing out that we've seen practically everyone else in pairs but those two, and also that Jer and Yves were super cute together in chapter 20 of "Lee," and I had thought about this scene before, so I'm going to go ahead and put it up. Will catch up with everything else soon, really.

This is set a few days after Holden brings Bran home, so also a few days (plus one) after Jer's first night.

It's been a while since I propositioned anybody. )
