Friends, perverts, angst enthusiasts! Lend me your ears! Just for a sec. Thanks very much.
So there is the
slavefics community on LJ, of course, which is very near and dear to my heart. Finding it was what inspired me to post on the big scary internet at all, and I originally posted the entirety of Bran to
slavefics, and I got tons of lovely feedback that encouraged me to post more and more and more and oh god will Lee ever come to an end probably not. And I've found all kinds of great stuff through
slavefics. It's a fantastic resource.
However, I've been pondering lately. I've had several people tell me that reading my stuff inspired them to write and/or post their own, original (non-fandom) slave fic. Now, I
love this, because I love reading original slavefic. I've also noticed that a lot of those of us who write it have been sharing readers, who read our comments and follow links and find new stuff they like. So: I've been pondering possibly creating a community solely for writers of
original slave fic. It would most likely be a very small community at this point, but the hope would be that If We Build It, They Will Come-- i.e. that in the same way people have apparently read my stuff, gone "Hey! What a great idea!" and proceeded to upturn an endless cornucopia of gorgeous original slavefic upon the internet, yet more people will go, "Huh! A community for THAT? Hey, I totally have an idea for that!" and the internet will be deluged with original slavefic and we shall all dance laughing like maenads, with our hands upheld to the life-giving rain of kink. And stuff.
What I'd like to see on this hypothetical "original_slavefic" (or whatever) community:
-original slavefic (including serial-numbers-filed-off slavefic that was originally written as AU fanfic or whatever-- as long as it still makes sense when you change the names from Harry and Severus to Quentin and Joe Bob, it's cool)
-requests and plot bunnies from people who like to read original slavefic and have great ideas but no time/perceived skill to write
-recommendations for original slavefic found elsewhere on the internet so we can all go and praise it and get the writers to write more
-support, reviews, and (if requested) constructive criticism and beta-ing for our fellow community members
We can be pretty flexible on a definition of slavery-- like, consensual real-life-style M/s should be fine, and fics like
42 where there's no actual slavery but the structure clearly follows the same format as your typical slavefic. (Although that one's a fanfic. But you get me.) Also, it would probably be moderated membership, to make sure people really write original slavefic (or a reasonable facsimile-- see above), and to make sure we maintain a reasonable standard of readability and general decency, to be arbitrarily* determined by yours truly.

*Not really
arbitrarily, but I do reserve the right to not have things that are totally incomprehensible to me and/or totally gross me out posted to any community that I start and maintain.
