1. Reply to this post, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo~!
thirdsouthobbi picked these four:

This is a quote from Doctor Who (the remake), Series One. The guy in the icon is John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack Harkness, an extremely charming omnisexual flirt who's adventuring with the Doctor and his companion when they get sucked by a tractor beam into a dystopic future where reality is a series of "reality shows." The Doctor gets trapped in a version of Big Brother where eviction means death, Rose is terrorized by the laser-beam-shooting "Anne Droid" on The Weakest Link, and Captain Jack has his clothes vaporized by robot versions of Susannah and Trinny of What Not to Wear, resulting in the following snippet of dialogue:
Captain Jack: Am I naked in front of millions of viewers?
Robots (in unison): Absolutely!
Captain Jack: Ladies, your viewing figures just went up.
The pic isn't actually from the episode, because I couldn't find a good shot of naked Jack from the episode; it's an alternate "shirtless John Barrowman mmm" pic. I use this icon when I am expressing approval of something somebody has posted, and intention to continue reading; it's a sort of "I am intrigued by your views and wish to subscribe to your newsletter" icon.

This is just a cropped cap of one of my favorite webcomics, Gunnerkrigg Court. It's about a weird little girl named Antimony and her adventures at an English boarding school that's a bit like Hogwarts might have been if Harry Potter were written by Neil Gaiman. Antimony builds robots, advises ghosts, fraternizes with psychopomps and has a possessed stuffed animal that plays with her X-Files action figures when she's out. Her best friend Kat, who calls her "Annie" and appears totally unfazed by all the weirdnesses that Antimony brings her into regular contact with, is freakin' adorable, and this cap is from a dream she has. I use it to express my approbation of plans that will involve shiny and/or muscular things, and/or on X-Files related posts.

This is, clearly, my default icon; it's a picture of Nick Cave, lying face down on a rock and giving you a come-hither look. (Or maybe I just find any man lying face down to be extremely come-hithery. Hey, I have predilections.) The words are from his song "Cannibal's Hymn." I love that line-- actually, I love the entire song, and if my writing has a theme song, I think that would be it.
You have a heart, and I have a key
Lie back and let me unlock you
Those heathens you hang with down by the sea
All they wanna do is defrock you
I know a river where we can dream
It will swell up, burst its banks, babe, and rock you
But if you're gonna dine with the cannibals
Sooner or later, darling, you're gonna get eaten
But I'm glad you've come around here with your animals
And your heart that is bruised but unbeaten
And beating like a drum
I will sit like a bird on a fence
Sing you songs with a happy ending
Swoop down and tell you that it don't make much sense
To attack the very thing you're defending
Didn't I just buy that dress for you
That pink paper pinafore that you keep mending
Well, if you're gonna dine with the cannibals
Sooner or later, darling, you're gonna get eaten
But I'm glad you've come around here with your animals
And your heart that is banging and beating
And banging like a gong
I can see that they've hurt you, dear
Here is some moonlight to cloak us
And I will never desert you here
Unpetaled among the crocus
Allow me, my love, to allay your fear
As I swim in and out of focus
But if you're gonna dine with the cannibals
Sooner or later, darling, you're gonna get eaten
But I'm glad you've come around here with your animals
And your heart that is bruised but bleeding
And bleating like a lamb
Banging like a gong
And beating like a drum

I snagged this ages ago and am ashamed to say I can no longer remember from whom. Somebody who did lots of Monty Python quotes like this. I love it, well, for obvious reasons-- and because I first saw this movie before I discovered, from the internet, that I wasn't the only person in the world who found corporal punishment sexy, and this scene was madly, guiltily gleeful for me because here was a whole castle full of perverted sexually frustrated cloistered young women clamoring to be spanked, and I just wanted to go live in Castle Anthrax myself. And this icon is particularly well done-- it shows the "OMG" look on Galahad's face, the determined "you must spank her well" look on the naughty maiden's, and of course, the highly phallic sword hilt. This is my all-purpose "silliness and smut" icon. :)
